Luxury Homes for Sale Take Longer to Sell

Homes are now taking longer to sell, and a luxury home in Bergen County that initially took half a month to sell is now taking double that time. According to the National Association of Realtors, sales rated of existing homes for sale have dropped. The figures reported a drop of 2.8 percent throughout the nation and ten percent in the Northeast from the month of December to January. News has also come in that the number of unsold new homes for sale has risen to record levels in January as sales of new homes dropped by 5 percent. However the Bergen County homes for sale scenario is not as bad. Realtors report that currently approximately 3000 single-family homes for sale are on the market in Bergen County. Reports have indicated that of all these homes, 26% are Luxury homes for sale listed for $1 million or more and only 1.8 percent are listed for $350,000 and lesser.

Luxury houses for sale in Bergen

Various houses in Bergen County are up for sale. These include a farmhouse-style home in Englewood which is wonderful for a single family home. It comes with three fireplaces, beautiful mouldings and is for sale at $1, 250,000. Another house also in Englewood is for sale at $2,500,000. This is a newly constructed single family home made in a colonial style. It is situated at N. Woodland Ave. Another beautiful colonial house again for single families is for sale in Tenafly. The house is in move-in condition and is up for $649,000. For those seeking a newly constructed house in Harrington Park, a center hall colonial construction has come up. This is again a single family home and a must see for all those who are seeking top class craftsmanship, high end appliances and marble baths. This house is in the market for $ 999,900.

Fort Lee to Soon Retire the Tax Assessor

The borough's tax assessor at Fort Lee is about to retire in a week's time. By Friday, March 17, 2006, Leodori will leave office but will be employed as the borough's tax assessing aide or consultant. This retirement comes after the borough alleged that Leodori had assessed condominiums and co-ops improperly. The borough also alleged Leodori of undermining the borough's interest in legal matters. Leodori has pleaded innocent for both charges. In total, three sets of administrative charges have been filed against him. The borough has thus decided to remove him as the assessor and to revoke his license.
