Harrington Park Swim Club

The Club is a non-profit corporation with facilities located on Lafayette Road, opposite Rugen Drive. It provides recreational, instructional and competitive swimming and diving to members and their families from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. It is run by a Board of Trustees comprised of volunteer members who serve for a three-year term. There are two swimming pools. An enclosed wading pool for infants and children up to age 5; and a large pool with swimming areas ranging in depth from 3 to 5 feet and diving area with depths up to 12 feet and 2 one-meter diving boards. There is also a volleyball court, a playground, two ping pong tables, and Restrooms/Showers/Lockers for Men and Women. Harrington Park residents are encouraged to join. Parks

All Town parks are under the jurisdiction of the Recreation Commission. Any group wishing to have an organized activity at one of these locations must submit a Field & Recreation Application, which can be obtained online or at Borough Hall. It must be approved by the Recreation Commission which meets monthly, so allow plenty of time.

Club 60

This social club of senior citizens meets the second Friday of every month except July and August, at the Community Church. All seniors are welcome-Harrington Park residents and those from surrounding towns. The group tries to take a couple of day trips every year.

Friends of the Library
Since 1991, this group has helped focus attention on the Library by offering programs as well as fund raising. Many of the children’s programs offered at the Library are sponsored by the Friends, and it is through their efforts that extra items not afforded through the operating budget are obtained. Meetings are the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Library’s Quantmeyer Room (upstairs).

Boy Scout Troop 616

Boy Scout Troop 616 is sponsored by the Community Church of Harrington Park. The troop provides an excellent Scouting program with plenty of camping, hiking, and fishing. The Troop meets on Monday evenings from September through May. In addition to meetings, the Troop plans one-weekend event per month, generally a camping trip. The Troop attends one week of Boy Scout Camp in July, usually the first week.

Whether it’s participating in a field trip, attending Camp Glen Spey or performing a community service, Girl Scouting offers girls ages 5 to 17 the opportunity to discover the world around them in a positive, supportive and fun environment
