Christie Announced Additional State Aid To NJ Schools

A plan to allocate $850 Million in aid to school districts throughout the state was announced by governor Chris Christie increasing the amount for the 2011-2012 school year. The governor further stressed the state’s commitment in ensuring that each and every  New Jersey school students get a quality education.

New Jersey’s per pupil spending is higher than most states in the the nation.  Based on the new program Tenafly Schools will receive an additional amount of $563,057 bringing the state’s aid to the district to a total of  $1,126,114. At this time Tenafly’s superintendent Lynn Trager said she could not specify how the money will be used but that  it’s certainly going to be put to good use.

Overall Bergen County will be getting $22 Million more in State education aid
