Cresskill Police Officer Prevents Disaster

Cresskill police Officer Jason Lanzilotti on his way to work on Sept. 1 noticed a tanker carrying 10,000 gallons of gasoline slowly smoking on the side of the road . The tanker, on its way to the Delta Station on Piermont Road at 6:48 a.m., experienced a problem as the vehicle’s brakes began to fail and the engine caught fire.

Lanzilotti  who was on his way to work saw the truck on the side of the road slowly burning underneath. The guy in the truck did not know it was burning. Firefighters were able to put out a fire that started in the engine of a truck carrying 10,000 gallons of gasoline near St. Therese’s Church. A huge disaster was thus prevented
