Four Tenafly High School Students Named Merit Scholars

Tenafly Scholars SemiFinalists

Tenafly Scholars SemiFinalists

Four Tenafly High School seniors have been named as semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Competition. They are:

  • * Warren Bloom
  • * Sarah Jang
  • * Daniel Konstantinovsky
  • * Michael Myung

National Merit semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of all high schools seniors in the United States.  They are selected based on academic records, principals’ recommendation and high scores as juniors on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.

The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. To become a finalist, a semifinalist must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by the high school principal, and earn SAT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
